Students analyze the fundraising and donor landscape to generate ideal donor personas as well as high-potential leads for the nonprofit or social justice organization to pursue. They summarize their findings in the form of a compelling presentation proposing a fundraising strategy backed by relevant trends, observations, and data from their research.
In this Externship, students will learn about the background and context of the nonprofit or social justice organization as well as their fundraising goals and challenges. They will help to map the landscape of donors, grants, and foundations in the space that the organization is working in and generate target personas as well as leads that meet fundraising goals. Finally, students will synthesize their findings into a concise presentation, recommending a fundraising strategy, featuring target personas and leading practices to create and maintain a fundraising pipeline.
Students will evaluate the organization’s strategy especially in the context of peers in the nonprofit or social justice organization and create a market map across key attributes. The end goal is to create a concise presentation recommending measures to improve the organization’s position relative to its peers.
In this Externship, students will learn about the background and context of the nonprofit or social justice organization’s operations. They will compare and contrast the strategy of the organization to that of other organizations in the space while taking into account trends and leading practices. At the end of the program, students will distill their analysis into a presentation summarizing the competitive position of the organization and suggesting recommendations to achieve the desired goals.
Students will conduct an evaluation of the nonprofit or social justice organization’s communication collateral and evaluate the effectiveness in comparison to other organizations. They will create a presentation proposing an effective communication strategy targeting the organization’s various stakeholders.
In this Externship, students will learn about the mission, vision, and values of the organization as well as stakeholders and communication goals specific to each of the stakeholders. They will conduct a comparative analysis that includes nonprofit or social justice organizations, social enterprises, foundations, etc., comparing and contrasting their communication strategies. Students will aim to create a presentation proposing recommendations that the organization can adopt to achieve its communication goals.
Students evaluate the nonprofit or social justice organization’s impact data as well as the larger landscape of impact measurement to create a presentation recommending ways to effectively capture impact and featuring recommendations to report, communicate, and help increase impact.
In this Externship, students will develop an understanding of the organization's vision, mission, and theory of change. They will conduct a comparative analysis spanning other nonprofit or social justice organizations, social enterprises, foundations, etc., comparing and contrasting their impact measurement and communication strategies. Students will summarize and present their findings and recommendations to measure, communicate and help maximize impact.
